Friday, March 21 will mark the 340th birthday of the composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. Join us at St. Elizabeth Church at 7:00 p.m. for an unforgettable evening. The concert is open to the public. Tickets are not required; however, a freewill offering will be taken.
This memorable evening will showcase some of his most iconic works alongside a few lesser-known treasures. The concert will begin with the famous Toccata in D Minor, BWV 565. Other highlights include Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 for solo cello, selections from Bach’s Orgelbüchlein, and Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, the latter of which contains the famous Air on the G String.
Our resident string ensemble will present a stunning performance of his Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C Minor, BWV 1060 with featured guest artist Miko Roman.
Bach’s music is celebrated for its intellectual depth, emotional resonance, and technical innovation, embodying the culmination of the Baroque era while laying the groundwork for future musical developments.

Meet our Featured Guest Artist
Miko Roman is a highly skilled oboist and bassoonist, renowned for his versatility as a 'doubler' and his deep passion for performing music from the Americas. Among his favorite composers is Heitor Villa-Lobos, whose vibrant works inspire his artistry. Miko honed his craft under the guidance of distinguished mentors, studying oboe with Katherine Young-Steele, Professor of Oboe at UW-Milwaukee and Principal Oboist of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and bassoon with Beth Giacobassi, Professor of Bassoon at UW-Milwaukee and a bassoonist and contrabassoonist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
As a dedicated teaching artist with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Miko inspires students of all ages through private lessons and group classes, igniting a love for wind instruments and nurturing musical talent. His enthusiasm for hands-on learning extends beyond music; an avid cyclist, Miko enjoys building and riding bikes while imparting practical skills to the next generation.
At Dream Bikes, Miko channels his commitment to education and service by teaching bike repair to students from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, empowering them with valuable technical knowledge. Beyond his musical and mechanical pursuits, Miko is deeply devoted to community service, blending his talents and passions to enrich the lives of those around him.
