On Wednesday, June 26, all hands were on deck for the arrival of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage to the Kenosha parishes. We are blessed to have been chosen by the Archdiocese as official stops along the route to its terminus in Indianapolis. Our historic downtown parishes hold an important place in the local community, and it was humbling to be recognized by the Archdiocese.
I would like to extend my profound gratitude toward the following people for their contributions on Wednesday: Michelle Anderson and St. Joseph Catholic Academy for providing the van, which followed the procession in case anyone fainted, could no longer walk the entire length of the procession, and also assisted in getting liturgical items returned to St. Elizabeth; Steve Fredriksson, Tim Dosemagen, Chuck Leipzig, and Spencer Jury for carrying the canopy; Deacon Ed Sosa and Deacon Dan Kehrer for vesting and processing to St. James with us; Jan Anderson and Charlie Anderson for coordinating the logistics with servers; the St. Elizabeth choir for providing beautiful music during Eucharistic Adoration; the St. James ushers (Men in Green) for providing two separate teams at both churches to greet guests and visitors; all 24 altar servers – we are fortunate to have so many willing altar servers for these such occasions; and lastly, to all the faithful who attended Adoration and were able to walk in the official procession.
