Are you (or anyone you know) interested in exploring the Catholic Church as your church home? Statistics show that most people respond to a personal invitation. HERE is that personal invitation! It is also a challenge to all of us to invite someone who fits that description.
Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process through which adults become members of the Roman Catholic Church. It consists of steps, periods, and rites that make up the model of Christian Initiation as restored in the Second Vatican Council.
The Period of Evangelization and Precatechumenate is the first step in the process. During this period, an individual comes to some knowledge of Jesus Christ, considers his or her relationship with Jesus Christ, and is usually attracted in some way to the Catholic Church. Our Christian Initiation classes for the Downtown Kenosha Catholic parishes begin on Sunday, September 29. All sessions are led by our Director of Religious Education, Louisa Fredriksson, and meet from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. in the Ministry Center, 714 49th Street.
