Please join us for the traditional Palm Sunday procession next Sunday (March 24) at the 10:30 a.m.(English) and 1:00 p.m.(Spanish) Masses.
Before Mass begins, gather in the glass atrium foyer of the Ministry Center, 714 49th Street. Enter the Ministry Center from the 49th Street entrance.
he music ministry will lead us in the opening antiphon, “Hosanna to the Son of David”, which is followed by the Gospel proclamation. Subsequently, the procession will head down 8th Avenue and into the church nave through the front entrance while singing the hymn, “All Glory, Laud, and Honor”.
In case of inclement weather, we will not process outdoors and the assembly should gather in the church in the usual manner.
At the remaining weekend Masses (4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m., and 9:00 a.m.), the assembly will not process outdoors. Palms will be available for congregants on tables as you enter the narthex before sitting in the pews. Mass will begin with the Gospel proclamation from the back of the church.
Please note: Palms that are blessed become sacramentals and are never to be thrown away. The blessed palms may be returned to the church to be burned for Ash Wednesday, or they can be returned to nature by burying or burning them outside.
