Out of an abundance of caution for participants and our volunteers, the Annual Parish Picnic will be moved to an indoor location TODAY (Thursday, August 15). After reviewing this afternoon’s forecast, which calls for potential thunderstorms coupled with strong gusts of wind, our Annual Parish Picnic will now take place in the DTKC Ministry Center Gymnasium, 714 49th Street. The picnic will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Come and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and camaraderie with fellow parishioners while indulging in the live entertainment by the jazz trio, Triad. Please bring your favorite dish to pass and, if you wish, a beverage other than water. 

DTKC will provide grilled meats as the entrée, folding chairs, bottled water, plates, napkins, condiments, serving utensils, and cutlery. Tables for eating will not be set up due to room capacity restraints.

The Ministry Center will promptly open at 6:30 p.m., which coincides with our original plan of immediately following the 5:30 p.m. Assumption Mass at St. James. Early access to the building (to drop off food, etc.) will not be permitted as it is still a regular business day for our office staff.

You may enter the DTKC Ministry Center anytime after 6:30 p.m. from the following three entrances:

• 49th Street (main office doors)
• 7th Avenue (directly to the gymnasium)
• Courtyard green metal doors (nearest the main church parking lots)

NOTE: There are stairs at each entrance. No elevator access exists to the gymnasium.

Please be mindful that the courtyard parking lot is reserved for  handicapped and staff parking only.
