Throughout the National Eucharistic Revival, local communities have been gathering tinder in response to God’s invitation for renewal, calling on the Holy Spirit to bring the flame.

‍In keeping with this vision, the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is accompanying Jesus from city to city, lighting hearts on fire along the way. Soon, all these flames will blaze together at the National Eucharistic Congress in July.

THE MARIAN ROUTE

Departing from the headwaters of the Mississippi, the northern arm of the Pilgrimage will descend through the midwestern United States, pass through Wisconsin and Illinois, and meet up with the other three Pilgrimage routes in Indianapolis at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress.

Pilgrims will attend Mass every day of their journey, along with regular evenings of reflection and adoration. As they travel, pilgrims will grow closer to Our Lord through service to local communities, inviting the most marginalized among us to be revived by the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.
 
The Marian route is named for its visit to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion—formerly Our Lady of Good Help—the first and only approved Marian Apparition site in the United States. This is fitting, because the very first Eucharistic Pilgrimage was made by our Blessed Mother who traveled with the Body of Christ growing in her womb. Just as Mary followed Jesus perfectly throughout his earthly life, pilgrims will journey closely with Our Lord from May 2024 to July 2024. 

LOCAL PILGRIMAGE EVENTS

On Wednesday, June 26, the local pilgrimage will begin with Mass in the morning at St. Peter. The pilgrimage will walk to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary before stopping at both St. Elizabeth and St. James the Apostle parishes. Then, pilgrims will travel to St. Benedict’s Abbey in Benet Lake before continuing into Illinois the following day.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE LOCALLY

1. Join us for morning Mass. Each morning the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage starts with Mass at our host parish, followed by a 1 mile solemn Eucharistic Procession. You are welcome to join us for Mass, whether or not you walk in the procession.
2. Process for a 1-6 mile segment. You are welcome to walk in procession along any of our 1-6 mile National Eucharistic Pilgrimage segments.
3. Be at a parish as Jesus is passing by. The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will pass through 5-10 parishes per day, stopping for 15 minutes of prayer and Benediction in each church. You are welcome to be present in the church or outside along the procession route.
4.  Come to an Encounter Night. St. Peter’s parish will offer an hour-long Encounter Night on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. This Holy Hour — or an Hour of Power — includes Eucharistic Adoration, a message from one of the National Eucharistic Pilgrims, prayer with music, time for prayer in silence, opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and a social to follow at 8:00 p.m.
