The church commemorates the Feast of St. James the Apostle in the liturgical calendar on July 25. According to the General Norms for the Liturgical Year, there is mention of several proper feasts and solemnities that change depending upon the place, including the “Solemnity of the title of a particular church.” Therefore, if the title of a parish is not already a solemnity in the universal calendar (St. Joseph, Immaculate Conception, Annunciation, etc.), then it is a solemnity in that specific church. On this occasion, the Feast of St. James the Apostle is raised to the level of a Solemnity and all of the liturgical elevations, as well (Gloria, Creed, etc.). Please join us as we will celebrate the patronal feast on Tuesday, July 25 with a sung Mass at St. James to begin at 12:00 p.m.
NOTE: There will be no 12:00 p.m. Mass at St. Elizabeth on this day.
