When children become preteens, their experiences fuel their learning. To best support this stage of life, our middle school program involves activities, small groups, prayer, and interactive learning. To achieve this, Father Sean and prepared catechists work together to pray and teach. The combined parish middle school program meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of the month at St. James. During each class, we begin in the church with Adoration, Vespers and Benediction. Between prayer and the lesson, we have a game or activity for the students. We begin our large group learning with discussion and demonstrations, and then, we break into small groups to focus on the topic more deeply. Because of the different needs between boys and girls at this age, small groups are split into all-girls and all-boys groups. After the small groups, Father Sean closes in night prayer.
Classes begin October 2nd, 2019. Registration closes October 13th. Please contact Louisa Fredriksson at the parish office with any questions.
