Because we have four of the most historic cemeteries in Kenosha, chances are, you have loved ones laid to rest in our cemeteries. As a part of our ministry to bury the deceased, we have committed to affordable and faithful burials. Beyond that, we are always remembering and praying for the dead in our cemeteries long after they've departed from this life. All of this is a way that we can honor every person that is buried at St. George, St. James, St. Casimir, or St. Mark Cemetery.
Another way that we take care of our departed brothers and sisters is through the maintenance of the grounds. Managing the upkeep of four cemeteries is quite the undertaking, so we're always looking for ways to get the community involved to help us in the ministry!
Friends of the Cemeteries
After many people expressing interest in helping our cemeteries, we created the Friends of the Cemeteries. The Friends are a group of volunteers that come help our grounds staff spruce up the cemeteries throughout the year. It's in the little things! Picking up trash, raking leaves, pulling weeds, trimming bushes...This is a fantastic opportunity to respect and honor the dead. Equipment and training/guidance are provided. Service hours are available for students as well. Help us keep our cemeteries beautiful for years to come! If you have questions, call the office at (262) 657-1156.
