In November, Pope Francis appointed Most Rev. Jeffrey S. Grob as the 12th Archbishop of Milwaukee, and on February 10, he celebrated a Mass of Welcome at St. Elizabeth in Kenosha—where he once lived from 1981-85 as a funeral director—attended by 450-500 Catholics.
During the Mass, he shared the "Doll of Salt" legend, emphasizing humility and Baptism as the first step toward knowing Jesus, and reflected on his unexpected journey to archbishop, crediting God’s sense of humor.
Following the service, he spent over an hour at a reception greeting parishioners, who described him as kind, genuine, and relatable, appreciating his pastoral sensitivity and ability to connect personally with the community.
