GivingTuesday is the Tuesday immediately following Thanksgiving in the United States, which is November 29 this year. It is touted as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities in the world.” Building community at the Downtown Kenosha Catholic parishes of St. James and St. Elizabeth is paramount to strong, solid parishes. To that extent, this year Downtown Kenosha Catholic is participating in the GivingTuesday program. Riding on the high from the success of our first annual Variety Show, this year’s proceeds will go towards upgrades in the shared space of the St. Elizabeth Gymnasium/Auditorium (curtains, lighting booth, stage lights, linens, etc.). It is our hope that this room will be utilized even more in the future for parish social events, and there are specific needs and upgrades in this room to make that vision a reality. The next scheduled community event will be on Monday, December 12 for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration. To donate to the GivingTuesday initiative, you can pay by cash or check (payable to St. Elizabeth and GivingTuesday in the memo line) and drop it off at the office — or place it in the weekend collection in a separate envelope with GivingTuesday on the front. You may also donate online at our website (there is one combined account for both St. James and St. Elizabeth parishes): www.osvhub.com/saintelizabeth/giving/funds/giving-tuesday
