We hosted our variety show, Movie Magic, last weekend. This annual gala event is our largest fundraiser for religious education and lifelong formation at the Downtown Kenosha Catholic parishes of St. James and St. Elizabeth.
For the first time, both the Friday and Saturday performances were completely sold out. The proceeds from ticket sales, the 50/50 raffle, the cash bar, and other miscellaneous donations profited approximately $8,000 - $10,000 to support formation efforts here.
The success of any event such as this requires many people generously giving their time and talents. I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to the following people who made this event possible:
Annie Fredriksson and the setup and take-down committee for their fantastic decorations, preparation of the space, and cleaning after each night of the show.
Stacey Stanich and the food service committee for creating a seamless and quick dinner service.
Ned Brooks and our entire bar team for making sure that we never went thirsty during the laughter and festivities.
Everyone in our incredible acts who put in dozens of hours diligently rehearsing and eventually performed for all of us on stage.
The fantastic stage crew, who learned all of the tech and cues to make the show run smoothly.
Paul Kern for his amazing emceeing and banter at both evening performances.
Jeff Jachowicz for his tech setup and countless hours prepping the stage.
Ruffolos II for catering the event with their delicious food.
Bobbie Poppie for making almost all of this year’s props
I am extremely grateful for your generosity in making quality formation accessible to all. If you missed it, make sure to get your tickets early for next year’s 4th annual variety show!
May God bless you all.
