We don't know what brought you to the Catholic Church, but we are so excited for you as you inquire about becoming Catholic. Certainly, there are a lot of experiences that have led you to this decision, and it is a significant one to make. When you go through the process to become a Catholic Christian (either from a denomination of Christianity, a non-denominational Christian background, a different religion, or no spirituality at all), you are not just preparing for the sacraments; you are building connections with others and learning about how to know, love, and serve the Lord! Considering becoming Catholic can be overwhelming, but we are here to support you, pray for you, and make this 2,000 year old church a little less daunting! Check out the information below and the reading list to the left for good next steps! If you're looking on a mobile device, you will have to open the menu (with the three line button in the top left corner of your screen).
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is technically the process for unbaptized adults to become Catholic and receive the sacraments (important gifts from God that give us grace) of baptism, Communion, and Confirmation. For adults who have been baptized but want to become Catholic or who were baptized Catholic but need their other sacraments, you are technically entering into full initiation of the Catholic faith. Wording aside, there is a lot to cover to help you learn about the Catholic faith and how to live Catholic morals! That is why we offer classes for anyone inquiring about becoming Catholic on Sundays from 1:00-2:30 p.m. These classes go from September until Easter, and they are the most basic overview of the Catholic faith we could offer.
